Time to Play – Carmentea
“Carmentea” is a well know piece from the Llanera music. This is one of the first pieces learned in a beginner level. The following video will show you the hand positions and the music sheet.
Considerations before playing the piece:
- Place the computer or laptop screen to the left side of the harp, preferably sitting with your back straight and your arms free. If you are right-handed, place the elbow of the harp on your right shoulder. If it is sinister, place the screen or laptop to the right side of the harp and the harp’s elbow should be placed on the left shoulder.
- Open the video in full screen to be able to observe the score and hands completely.
- Ideally, study the upper plane first and then the lower plane. Then study the two planes simultaneously. You will find this information in the first video provided below.
- In case of doubts regarding the musical notation, refer to the “table of symbols” in the previous section of the digital book.
After learning the piece in its entirety, now try to play the piece with the play-along provided in the second video below in order to have absolute mastery of the piece.
